Bukidnon Provincial Vice Governor, Hon. Alex P. Calingasan successfully took his oath before his son, Municipal Mayor Leonardo Genesis T. Calingasan last June 28, 2013 at Municipal Covered Court, Libona, Bukidnon.
During the oath taking, Vice Governor Calingasan requested every individual who wore a native costume (IP dress) to be on-stage. “I wanted it to be more colorful and meaningful since it is for the first time in history in the Province of Bukidnon that a father will be taking his oath before his son”, the vice governor uttered.
But before the vice governor took his oath, Mayor Calingasan first pledge his commitment and dedication as the chief executive of Libona town to his father (Vice Governor Calingasan), witnessed by the people from 14 barangays of the said municipality.
Together with them were the re-elected and newly elected Sangguniang Bayan members who took their oath to Fiscal Mario A. Dalapo of Provincial Prosecutor’s Office, Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.
In his message, Vice Governor Calingasan encouraged every elected official to give their best in serving the public. “Continue to give service the public because our Father in heaven will be more than happy to see you care for His people”, he said.
Reflecting on Pastor Bong Udang’s words of God, Vice Governor Calingasan said, “We have to be a servant and godly-leader, honest, and committed to do what is mandated by law.”
